From the point of Light within the Mind of God
Let light stream forth into the minds of men.
Let Light descend on Earth.
From the point of Love within the Heart of God
Let love stream forth into the hearts of men.
May Christ* return to Earth.
From the centre where the Will of God is known
Let purpose guide the little wills of men –
The purpose which the Masters know and serve.
From the centre which we call the race of men
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.
Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.

* Many religions believe in a World Teacher knowing him under such names as the Christ, the Lord Maitreya, the Bodhisattva, the Kalki Avatar, the Imam Mahdi and the Messiah. These terms are sometimes used in versions of the Great Invocation for people of specific faiths.
A Mantram for All Humanity
Since the Great Invocation was given out in April 1945, it has been translated into over 80 languages and dialects, and its distribution is now worldwide.
To hasten humanity's evolutionary development, the Great Invocation was given out in three stages over a period of nine years which included the earthly event of the second phase of the World War. As a result of the collaboration of Alice Bailey with Master Djwhal Khul, "seven very ancient word-forms" were translated into "understandable and adequate" phrases in English.
These seven word-forms are said to constitute the complete, new utterance of the Christ for the coming 2000-year epoch, and thus the Great Invocation is spoken of as "the Christ's own mantram".
Eleanor Roosevelt Reads the Great Invocation
On World Invocation Day, 1952, Eleanor Roosevelt, a pioneering force in the passage of the Declaration of Human Rights at the United Nations, and wife of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, recorded a brief message which included the Great Invocation. The message was recorded by Mrs Roosevelt at the United Nations:

"... Look for the underlying abstract idea in this Invocation. It is there. From your reaction to this Invocation, and your ability to use its phrases as "stepping-stones" to certain levels of abstract thought not hitherto attained, I shall be able to judge your readiness, ..."
"... The final stanza of the "Invocation for Power and Light," as it is called in the Archives of the Masters, is apparently simple. It has, in these Archives, an indicatory symbol beside it which indicates the era or period in human history during which it can and should be used. It is interesting to us to note that the evolution of humanity is in line with the indicated timing. This Invocation will have a potent appeal to mankind. ..." [157]
